In Thailand, the Energy Ministry announced that biodiesel blends will be increased from 4% to 5%, starting October 21 until December. The increase is the result of total crude palm oil stocks having reached 281,000 tonnes back in August, as opposed to the normal average of 150,000 tonnes. It is anticipated the CPO stocks will drop to 200,000 in December, at which time the Energy Ministry will consider whether to continue with a B5 blend or not.
