In Argentina, State of the Argentine Renewable Energies Industry: 2011 will be published this month in English and Spanish. The study has chapters on the country’s renewables legal framework, project databases, market share analysis for biofuels, wind, solar, biomass, waste-to-energy, geothermal, marine, biogas and other technologies.

The report highlights how Argentina’s total biodiesel production in 2011 will reach 2.4 million tons, comprised 70% exports and 30% domestic consumption, representing a 25% increase over the 1.9 million tons produced in 2010. The report also shows how Argentina’s average biodiesel plant size (108,000 tpy capacity) is far larger than, for example, Europe’s (at 89,000 typ) and Brazil’s (70.500 typ), which explains the greater efficiency of its industry – and shows how it is projected to continue to have increasingly larger size plants than any other country in the world (reaching over 119,000 typ capacity on average by 2013).
