EU protectionism causes huge losses in Argentine agricultural

As for Wednesday next week, the EU will start applying sanctions on Argentine biodiesel imports alleging local producers are dumping-selling at below fair market prices. The economic bloc will be imposing an extra 24.6-percent tariff on purchases from the South American country, a rule that will be in force for five years and is expected to hit hard on the agricultural industry.

According to a recent statement, the European Commission conducted a 15-month investigation, the result of which alleges that Argentine biodiesel exports carried a QUOTE “considerable negative impact” on European producers.
