Crude palm oil prices to be better in first half of 2015

Crude palm oil (CPO) price is likely to be better in the first half of 2015 (H1 CY15) due to the tight CPO supply, but for the second half of the year, this will hinge on biodiesel demand from Malaysia and Indonesia, says UOB Kay Hian Malaysia Research.

The research house said on Friday it prefers Singapore- and Indonesia-listed plantation companies for their younger age profile and stronger production growth.

Commenting on the financial results in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2014 (Q4 CY14), it said the results were mixed due to the low CPO prices and production growth.
